At UPMC Kane, we offer a wide range of diagnostic radiology services and screenings to meet the needs of our patients and our referring physicians.
All imaging technology at UPMC Kane is digital including:
- Digital and 3D mammography
- Stereotactic breast biopsy
- 1.5T MRI
- 64-slice computed axial tomography (CAT/CT scan) with 3D imaging
- Full-body DXA (bone density) scanning
- Nuclear medicine
- Portable radiography/fluoroscopy used for operating suite and pain management
- PET-CT offered at UPMC Hamot Medical Park in Johnsonburg
Images are stored onsite and offsite using our picture archiving communication system (PACS). This secure system allows physicians anywhere in the world to view patients’ images. This capability can help decrease the number of repeat studies.
Our Diagnostic Imaging Department is designated as a Breast Imaging Center of Excellence by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and accredited by the Mammography Quality Standards Act. We perform in-house stereotactic breast biopsy and MRI guided breast biopsy that allows for greater accuracy, less scarring, and less recovery time than image-guided biopsy.
